Her Music Speaks: Musica da Camera Celebrates Australian Women Composers

September 15, 2024

Event Navigation

The Musica da Camera String Orchestra is a firm and long-standing favourite in Gunning.   It never fails to delight.

The Upper Lachlan Gazette’s concert reviewer, Mandy McDonald, rated their last two performances here very highly and told readers, “GFG can only hope they are included in the ensemble’s 2024 touring program .   So, we are stoked to report that we made the ensemble’s cut.

Musica da Camera will perform in the newly refurbished Gunning Shire Hall on Sunday afternoon, 15th September.  This outfit deliberately invites different music directors to lead it most years.  This may well be why they continue to be fresh and different each time we hear them.  The director for this program will be Shilong Ye.

Full and final concert details will be announced soon.  But you can book right now, knowing that the concert will showcase Australian women composers.  You can expect to enjoy appealing music from a range of composers, from Margaret Sutherland to Elena Kats-Chernin and Sally Greenaway – performed for you by an orchestra that always delivers.
