Loosely Woven on the Road

March 15, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Loosely Woven, the Sydney-based music ensemble that brought you Trial by Jury in 2019, is returning with an eclectic and very entertaining concert. The program will include a few songs addressing social justice issues including a fabulous song by Australian singer/songwriter Khristian Mizzi called ‘We ain’t all equal’, Eric Bogle’s powerful ’Shelter’ and a very clever parody of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Sound of Silence’ called ‘Confounds the Science’ which expresses concern over the way the current US President and some other world leaders we know refuse to address the issue of Climate Change in any meaningful
way.

Other Australian songs will include:

 Love in the morning (Archie Roach)
 Oscar’s Song (written by Loosely Woven’s Maria Dunn)
 Breaking up with Queensland (the ABC’s Sammy J)

There will also be a number of well known songs including:

 You’ve got a friend
 Unchained Melody
 L’Accordeoniste (Edith Piaf)
 Just an old fashioned girl
 I wanna be loved by you (Marilyn Monroe)
 Nessun Dorma
 Miserlou
 Little Things (One Direction)

Instruments this time will include violins, cello, flutes, saxophone, harp, melodicas, glockenspiel, harmonium, accordion, guitars, ukuleles, keyboard and percussion.
