Ensemble Offspring: To Listen To Sing

August 23 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

These much-admired rockstars of contemporary classical music are known for the visceral, joyous pieces they bring to the world.  What a delight and privilege to have such a stellar outfit playing in Gunning.

To Listen To Sing features a quartet of flute, clarinet, cello and percussion that shines the spotlight on a whole raft of brand-new music by fresh First Nations voices.   It is a true celebration of the enmeshing of Western art music and the oldest surviving culture on earth.

Tickets ($48, GFG members $30, music students $15) are available now at https://events.humanitix.com/ensemble-offspring-to-listen-to-sing-g4zfuz9l

Will You Be a First-time Visitor to Gunning?

Pictured at left is Ensemble Offspring’s Claire Edwardes OAM before an earlier performance in the Courtroom.  Claire is sporting a new pair of magpie ear rings (so appropriate for their birdsong-themed show) she had just purchased from a craft shop across the road

The historic village of Gunning has a range of art, craft and antique outlets where you can enjoy pre-concert browsing as well as cafes for afternoon coffee.

If you are staying for dinner before heading home after the show, the Telegraph Hotel Bistro offers good pub food.  This writer particularly enjoys its crispy chicken salad – a very appealing combination of healthy and salty decadence.  You can read more about it at https://gunningpub.com/
